One Thing: Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.

We're kicking off a brand new series here at Neu!. Having spent the best part of the morning stumbling over names, we've finally settled on "One Thing", for that's what it is: a bunch of bands telling us the one thing they think everyone should know about them. A sort of mission statement, if you will.

Following Pure X last week, we've Joshua Epstein - one half of Detroit duo Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., who will pay their first UK shows this October.

So, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr., what's the one thing everyone should know about you?

"We both eat a gluten-free diet, which makes beer something that we cannot have."

    Lovely.

Details of where you can see the band this autumn are after the jump. Read on »

Air France: It Feels Good To Be Around You

A blueprint for how to send 'The Blogs' mad.

    1. Be Swedish. Blogs love Swedes.
    2. Try to take at least a few years away. Three is optimum. Long enough for everyone to get misty eyed, but not so long you're not still influencing new acts.
    3. Suggest your comeback is on the way with something reasonably enigmatic. Teaser videos are awfully now.
    4. Make sure your comeback track is remixed by someone who is on a hot streak. Star Slinger would be a good bet.
    5. Make sure said track is really bleedin' excellent.

Air France - congratulations! Full house! Check out 'It Feels Good To Be round You' below:

    Loney, Dear

Some days we feel that we could add 'Swedish' as a legitimate menu bar item on Neu and be done with it, but then with tracks as good as this offering from Loney Dear to catch up on, who could blame us.

With a new album 'Hall Music' due this October, fresh cut 'What Have I Become' features vocals from long-term collaborator Malin Ståhlberg. You can check it out on The Guardian here.

    Field Day: Times & Planner

You may have noticed, but we've been away for a while, so you'll have to forgive us for catching up.

That means we've not had a chance to wax lyrical over this year's Field Day line up. You'll catch us being more than a bit obsessed with the tombola in Victoria Park on Saturday, but otherwise we might be watching everyone from Wild Beasts through to Star Slinger and Electrelane.

Anyway - the times for this year's event are out. You can read them by clicking 'Read On', or download this planner made by the good folks over at TLOBF Read on »
