    One Thing: Pure X

We're kicking off a brand new series here at Neu!. Having spent the best part of the morning stumbling over names, we've finally settled on "One Thing", for that's what it is: a bunch of bands telling us the one thing they think everyone should know about them. A sort of mission statement, if you will.

First up, we've Nate Grace - one third of Austin Trio Pure X, who are currently gearing up to release their debut album 'Pleasure' through Acéphale.

So, Pure X, what's the one thing everyone should know about you?

"That this is what we were born to do. It's how we touch God. It's how we communicate with the dead. This is who we are and this is what we do. I am personally so grateful to be alive and to be experiencing everything that life and music has to give."

    Lovely.

    jj

Ne-Yo and jj teaming up wasn't the first thing we expected to happen, but actually, it kind of works.

As part of the Adult Swim Singles Program, Ne-Yo sent over a new, original song which was then sent on to jj to play with. The result is 'We Can't Stop' - which you can check out below.

Music Math: Modeselekor + Thom Yorke = This (& Shipwreck)

German duo Modeselektor are lucky types. They don't get to boast just one Thom Yorke collaboration on their forthcoming album 'Monkeytown' - they get two. And we can get a quick taster of what they sound like.

45 second previews of the tracks - 'Shipwreck' and 'This' have appeared online (we assume this means they were magiced up by some electro friendly Merlin) and can be listened to below.
