Mark Ronson is a God. It's undeniable. The things that he can do with a bit of brass, in both of it's semantic settings, is extraordinary.
'Valerie' is a masterpiece, in no uncertain terms. With the wonderful yet manly vocals of Amy Winehouse piled on top of a jazzy orchestra, it's bouncy and beautiful, chirpy and cheerful, and delightfully different. How could anyone ask for more?
Well, apparently someone did because the single is filled to boot with alternative remixes, throwing in a bit of hip-hop here and there, a dash of dance and reems of rnb. The absolute favourite of all of these has to the 'Baby J Refix Ft. Rukus, Precha, Alex Blood and Malik', with it's summer sound and Marleyesque undertones. A beauty of a record, don't miss out on this one, it'll keep your cockles cosy in the colder months.
