Mixing made-for-indie vocals with rich and textured guitar and violin Lightspeed Champion plays not only their own arrangement of 'Galaxy of the Lost' but cover The Strokes too in a fabulously low key way. Highlights of their set though comes in the form of 'Mr. Fisk', which has the hard-core fans salivating and bobbing around as best they can at the front. Almost shunning his own 'Midnight Surprise' for another cover various yelps from indignant fans persuade a bashful Dev to opt for his own song; a much better decision. After making sure the people meant to be handing out leaflets have enough and are doing their job, LC skitter off stage (only to be seen again at various points of the night as they stand by merchandise tables and chat to fans).

Good Shoes. A band almost made to jump around to as every song on their album has the potential to bring a crowd up on a torrent of angular guitars whilst simultaneously satisfying the foot tappers at the back. Songs like 'All in My Head' and 'Never Meant to Hurt You' allow the unique vocals to take control whilst 'Small Town Girl' creates a mini-riot as fans scrum it out at the front (prompting the band to say “Don’t stop that… I mean, stop that” whilst also vaguely enjoying holding the audience in the palms of their hands). The only downfall comes in the form of lack of interaction with the crowd. Their perfectly tight set is hardly punctured with an utterance to the crowd apart from to ask them to settle down or to say “This is our next single”. Although not much interaction comes in this form, their music transcendes audience and band enough to not miss the lack of banter (hopefully caused by shyness if nothing else). 'Blue Eyes' soars over the crowd and dancing begins to get more heartfelt and songs like 'Things to Make and Do' have feet tapping and hands punching the air. Album tracks 'In the City' and 'Wait' pair more sliding guitars and softer vocals (with more of a moral message) than expected from the stomping band that brought songs like 'Morden' and 'Photos'.

Their set never dips and lesser known songs are received as well as singles from fans old and new; a magnificent (if slightly ‘banter’ shy) live band.
