Tucked away under Great Portland Street is where The More Assured decide to have their tour ‘finale’. The irony of the promoter, All Age Concerts, is that there was a 14+ age limit . However this does not stop the (extreme) underage scene rolling in with 13 year olds in the lively crowd.
First up is Nic Nell with his array of electro dance-pop fused with classic disco cheese. His ready made songs played through a synthesiser, accompanied by enthusiastic onstage dancing does not really hit off with the crowd. He is heckled in between songs and his banter, especially the disturbing ‘alright!’, does not endear him at all to any members of the audience.
Next comes Lion Club, pumping energy. They really get the crowd going with their indie charm and their tight, well-rehearsed performance. They are a clear step up from Nic Nell and the moshpits confirms this. One of the great bands with a drum-machine.
After a storming set from Str8 Necklin DJs, Glamour for Better take to the stage. It is time for the indie kids to step aside and for the ‘nu ravers’ to have their time on the dancefloor. The racket produced disperses the crowd although the chance to meet members of The More Assured selling merchandise probably helps. Even the ‘nu rave’ scenesters are left disappointed as Glamour For Better fail to live up to their talent shown on recent releases such as ‘Architects of Discotech’.
The only band with a drummer onstage tonight, The More Assured can hardly wait to get onto the stage for the last time on their first tour. Their crazy offstage behaviour has almost equalled their incredible jingly jangly indie pop tunes which the crowd love them for. Their ‘No, I do not want a free London Lite’ T-shirts show what they think of their new found fame in the national press. Their set, consisting of recent single ‘All in Your Head’ and crowd favourites ‘An Empty Platform 954’, ‘Let’s Get Kooky’ and ‘I Want Your Despair’, is an instant hit with their loving fans. Their excellent live act and enthusiastic playing especially from their infamous bassist, Slinky Sunbeam, means that no-one goes away disappointed. Midway through the set the singer, Al, announces that Slinky has brought along presents for the crowd and with huge appreciative cheers from the audience, party poppers and Monopoly boards rain down. On ‘You Do It Pretty Well’, Faith from Pull In Emergency comes onstage to do backing vocals. In the set closer, ‘Let’s Get Kooky’, members of Lion Club step forward and sprays the crowd with whipped cream. It was a typically unpredictable ending for The More Assured’s tour.

You're probably a private school dick, who doesnt know anything about this "scene", and only got this reviewing "job" from sucking a bloke from the industry's cock
You don't know what you're talking about, so just stop before you get battered

if any of these people think they can do better then hav a go but at least get a life instead of jealously going on to others reviews and criticising them. its a tad closed minded to criticise someone just because of their opinion dontya think? so what if u think this guy goes to a private school? at least hes doing something instead of hanging around in trackie bottoms mugging people. and Charlie - if u actually READ the review i think u will find that he sed that the new rave band were actually a tad shite.

You're all pseudo-bohemian scum, symptomatic of corrosive Western decadence. I shit on your risibly conformist non-conformity. If only the BNP got into power, you'd be top of the parasites-to-exterminate list.

Nu Rave is a fad that died out months ago?
Well then how do you explain Hadouken's impending first album and the continued success of other bands in the genre Charlie? hmm?

why get so worked up over a review?
clearly the person using "private school" as an insult has a big chip on their shoulder.
Nice Review, well done.

Private schools are great - just because your parents were too selfish to send you to a good school and spent all their money on fags and string vests doesn't mean that people who went to private school lick foreskin
and even if they did - it's 2008!
