To label this track simply as 'indie' would be a terrible crime.

Although the sound and feel of the track would normally fall perfectly in that umbrella term, it's just feels wrong somehow. The term 'indie' is usually used to describe a torrent of mediocre, unimaginative bands with Telecasters and a false sense of purpose. Foals, however, are an evolution of this.

It's indie plus, the next step, the new order of a genre of music that has been growing stale for so long. It's fun, basically. 'Cassius' is a fun, danceable track that doesn't waver or pretend to be anything it's not. Not too long either, but you wouldn't mind if it carried on for ages.

Unbelievably catchy and simple, this song doesn't leave any room for unnecessary meaning or depth. Well, there may be some. But when it's this enjoyable, who cares? You could break down this song by asking who the hell Cassius is, etc. If you need to do that, you've completely missed the point.

Neat, tidy with a great hook from the word 'go'. It's very close to perfection, as singles go. Foals are certainly heading in the right direction.
