Blah Blah Blah - Death To The Indie Disco

Release Date:
Label: Kids
Rating: 6/10
Funky bass line, jaunty guitar and cowbells... All ruined by some god awful vocals.
We commend this man's effort to speak out against the whole concept of 'indie' and loyalty to being an outcast. We really do. It's just the way he expresses it through a snarling, angry ranting. Trying to make it as ugly and un-polished as they can to differ themselves from the slicker indie bands. Fair enough, but death surely isn't the answer?
The track itself is pretty danceable in itself. Purposefully ironic, maybe. If it wasn't for the breaks, it would be played by every ironic indie disco DJ and danced to by every ironic indie disco fan. How ironic.
From a band with the same name as Iggy Pop's most commercially successful album, it's safe to assume this won't be as much of a success. It's envious of the bands they set out to hate and they hate the fans of those bands. It's all very hostile, but feel for them in a way.
If it wasn't such a bitter track, it'd be a fitting anthem for the people that despise indie and all it's pretenses.

Bitter? I think your reviewing skills are lacking some what. Is is pure fun and folly.
Please explain when and where they abuse other bands.
It doesn't take itself too seriously and is a giggle that gets everyone jumping about.
Perhaps it teaches those who only rate bands by their attractiveness and radio one popularity to actually pay attention to lyrics in the future and to fuck it and just admit to liking something not so cool.
I love it.
