Jim Noir is uniquely talented. He has, alone, created a brilliant electro-prog sound which not only sounds brilliant but also allows for much experimentation. Fittingly named opener, 'Welcome Commander Jameson', introduces Jim Noir’s subject of his new concept album. Having created his entire debut album, 'Tower Of Love', in his Manchester bedroom, the cosy sound has been recreated thanks to Beatles producer George Martin at the famous Abbey Road studios in London.

'All Right', shows Jim Noir at his best, a psychedelic, dreamy song. It is memorable, yet extremely calming. 'What You Gonna Do?' sounds like a futuristic Beatles, so perhaps ‘the 5th Beatle’, as George Martin is often called, has unleashed some of The Beatles secrets into Jim Noir’s work. Jim Noir’s talent does not end at his impressive knack at composing superb, electro opuses. His ability at so many different instruments is noticeable too.

Jim Noir continues the concept album, including emotional themes and holidays in various songs. In 'Ships & Clouds, Jim Noir explores the unknown, using falsetto for the first time. With such eclectic songs, this second album includes a wide range of genres. 'Happy Day Today' is an excellent pop song, despite using unconventional instrumentation such as strings and classical guitars. 'Day By Day' uses syncopated electro beats clashing with another Beatles-esque song.

'Good Old Vinyl' is the best example of the bedroom sound that Jim Noir is so famous for. With slightly out of tune synths and honky-tonk pianos, the amateur sound produced is familiar and impressive.

Jim Noir is a hugely eccentric, yet talented individual, and while he continues to create records like this, he will always be successful.
