'The Race' is certainly more than your average catchy indie anthem. Guaranteed to have the most pretentious non-believer singing along in a matter of seconds, Cajun Dance Party's new single gives you hope for the future of British music.
The infectious guitars are a step up from the average indie sound, the vocals are clear and confident (although the lyrics aren't quite as good) and the chorus is fantastically catchy.
Considering the band haven't strayed far from the conventional guitar/bass/drums/keyboards set up, 'The Race' is an ambitious, energetic effort from Cajun Dance Party. Their youth shouldn't be used against them, in fact the opposite - if they're making music this good despite still being teenagers, it gives you nothing but hope for the future of their music.
