I Haunt Wizards may have formed just a few months ago, but they're already looking to release their debut material and are playing a few festivals this Summer. Intrigued? So were we...

Hello I Haunt Wizards! How are you today?
Not bad! Just busy. In the middle of exams at the moment, and a packed schedule for summer starting with a gig with the Holloways this Friday.

For those who haven't heard of you, summarise the band in five words or less.
Whore-fronted 80's disco pop... whore-fronted is hyphenated do we get one more word? good. I'm gonna go with... "afrocentric"... look it up!

Your debut EP is 'Coming Soon' - can you tell us anything about it?
Everyone wanted us to release our stuff thats on our page but we could never be bothered 'cause they're only rough bedroom demos, but we're spending a week in a really good studio next month to record professionally so we thought we may as well release those tracks. It will include a couple of the best tracks from our myspace and a couple new ones too which are sounding goood, bit of a change from our previous stuff too... it's really pretty much just watered down, mainstream crap that will piss off our fans but make us more money meaning I can finally buy a bouncy castle, then put my dog on it and squirt my supersoaker and girlfriend at him so he's all wet and disorientated, he wont be able to stand up and there'll be kids jumping up and down around him, he wont be able to stop bouncing and crying and he might void his bowels on one of the kids... so yeah that's why were making an E.P.

Is it true you'll also have a full-length CD appearing sometime soon?
Maybe! Maybe not, depends if we end up signing to a label soon in which case it probably won't be our decision! But yes sooner or later, I think we will write another 5 or 10 songs this summer anyway

Will you be playing any festivals this year, other than Redfest?
We're playing Z00thousand in Kent the day after Redfest, and we have two other festivals, one in Autumn, one in winter, which we can't announce yet but are happening!

Of all the bands you'll be playing with over Summer, who are you most looking forward to sharing a stage with?
Operator Please!! They're really good. I'm looking forward to meeting them, and we're playing with Crystal Castles again which will be fun.

Are there any new Brighton-based bands you can recommend?
Just "This City", they're cool. Don't really know of much going on round here though, we don't like Brighton!

If you could travel in time, when would you most like to be releasing your music?
80's! And I'd write the album 'Faith' before George Micheal, then he'd like me enough to... I dunno... at least foreplay surely?

Having formed relatively recently (Oct '07), you seem to be doing very well for yourselves, what's your secret?
We send nude pictures of ourselves to 14 year old girls and say if they don't visit our page we will come round their house and wrestle naked with their Dad. Not really in a playful sense though. We would be quite angry and aggressive... there might be questioning as to why we were naked, but we'd certainly seem quite threatening.

Where do you want to be this time next year?
Touring with CALVIN HARRIS, JUSTICE and QUEEN... oh wait.
