Twisted Wheel – You Stole The Sun EP

Release Date: 28/07/08
Label: Columbia Records
Rating: 8/10
‘You Stole The Sun’ is raw evidence of Twisted Wheel’s ability. It's swaggering punk and frantic guitars are just a small reason why the Oldham 3-piece are taking the UK by storm. Twisted Wheel are a very tight band and have almost excessive talent. Jonny Brown’s savage vocals are key to Twisted Wheel’s success. ‘Let Them Have It All’ shows their live ability and unrelenting energy. Twisted Wheel do not take any time to stop or calm down. That is not what they do. Twisted Wheel are doing what they are best at. ‘Racket’ is yet another explosive number carried by some brilliant vocals. They lyrics are simple but this just adds to the catchiness of this song. ‘What’s Your Name’ is a slightly slower song but it is still just as infectious as the other songs on the EP. It proves that the band are able to engage their audience even with their lyrical ability.
All together, this is a well rounded EP which shows Twisted Wheel’s ability and prowess. They have barely been around for more than a year however this has not stopped them from building such a great following and creating some really excellent songs.
