    Former Ghosts

Just as he proved with most recent record 'New Love', he's brilliant at making experimental, outsider music sound a bit less scary. As one of our contributors' favourites, we asked Freddy to do that all over again and curate our 'new weirdos to watch'. He hasn't disappointed. Check out the likes of Whitman and Dva Damas. Read on »

  2. Exploring Bass Weight

    Bass Weight

Bass Weight, a documentary exploring the dubstep phenomenon, was filmed between 2007 – 08; a short, but considerable, while before the explosion that is currently propelling the scene. As such, it manages to tap the frenetic energy that was building at the time and what it lacks in up-to-the-minute footage, it more than makes up for in its focus on some of dubstep’s most interesting characters. Read on »

    Mystery Jets In Session

Neu Magazine doesn't have a video camera (awwww, poor us) but our friends at Maps do. They've also been hanging around with the Mystery Jets and, as part of an ongoing series, have recorded sessions with the London band performing stripped down versions of most recent single 'Show Me The Light', 'Flakes' and album title track, 'Serotonin' in beautiful black and white. Read on »

    Offset: Words and Pictures

Some of the crowd might look a bit glum but this year's Offset festival still had stage diving, floor wiping displays of passion. Neu Magazine reports from somewhere near the front. Read on »

    Offset 2010

If you've ever wanted to go to a festival with a great mix of new bands to discover and established ones to say "remember when..." with, you couldn't ask for a better one than Offset. It's in Hainault Park near London, and, with only one night of camping, it's less like the Reading Somme more like an off-piste episode of Skins. Read on »

Air France: It Feels Good To Be Around You

A blueprint for how to send 'The Blogs' mad.

    1. Be Swedish. Blogs love Swedes.
    2. Try to take at least a few years away. Three is optimum. Long enough for everyone to get misty eyed, but not so long you're not still influencing new acts.
    3. Suggest your comeback is on the way with something reasonably enigmatic. Teaser videos are awfully now.
    4. Make sure your comeback track is remixed by someone who is on a hot streak. Star Slinger would be a good bet.
    5. Make sure said track is really bleedin' excellent.

Air France - congratulations! Full house! Check out 'It Feels Good To Be round You' below:

    Field Day: Times & Planner

You may have noticed, but we've been away for a while, so you'll have to forgive us for catching up.

That means we've not had a chance to wax lyrical over this year's Field Day line up. You'll catch us being more than a bit obsessed with the tombola in Victoria Park on Saturday, but otherwise we might be watching everyone from Wild Beasts through to Star Slinger and Electrelane.

Anyway - the times for this year's event are out. You can read them by clicking 'Read On', or download this planner made by the good folks over at TLOBF Read on »

    Fear Of Men: Ritual Confession

Few bands get the kind of outpouring of love we've seen for Fear Of Men over recent months, and even fewer actually warrant it. This London/Brighton four piece deserve all the platitudes they receive, following up their awesome 'Hannah Schygulla Demos' released earlier this year via Sex is Disgusting with the equally (of not more) brilliant 'Ritual Confession'.

Out in August via Italian Beach Babes, it's the kind of track that will get a lot of people very excited indeed. Us included. Check it out below:
