Bad Sports

Bad Sports

I went to South By South West. I am not boasting, merely pointing it out. Despite managing to see the elusive (to myself) Cheap Time and Tyvek and Real Estate, none of them were really anything to write home about. Which is possibly why I never sent home a mothers day card. Sorry Mum.

Bad Sports however were something worth tearing your own face off for, making me want to scrawl illegibly in free tequila and bloody knuckles "dear mum, happy mothers day, Bad Sports are awesome!". I didn't quite think she'd know what I was on about or appreciate it - it was already a few days after mothers day - so I didn't bother. But seriously Bad Sports are an absolute zzzinger. If you like ferociously energetic power-pop-punk then you will love it more than sucking on a big bag of dicks.

They reside in Austin, Texas (probably keeping Austin weird) for more than the four days of the year that I do; they have an eponymous debut LP (which is essentially a faster and more horrible version of the classic 'Exile on Main St') out on the ultra sleazy Douchemaster Records, and one of them is actually named Orville!

p.s they've got this in their photo section. Winners.
