Double Life: Beach Fossils
Say what you will about Captured Tracks but Mike Sniper follows through on his promises. After signing the world and its brother's remix project in the last couple of years the Blank Dogs / label boss man unleashes a whole lot of LPs in the coming months. Next to surface is Beach Fossils' self titled disc, featuring 11 sunbleached tracks dug from the memories stored somewhere in Dustin Payseur's brain.
Or should that be brains. The record is at once listlessly dreamy and nervously urgent, it's got one foot in the city [Payseur lives in Brooklyn] and one foot in the sea, one eye on the project's reverb heavy demos and one looking towards a bright pop future.
