Being Human: High Places

Last time High Places were on our stereos they were blissfully unaware of the world, drowned in glistening backdrops and bathed in a hippy-dippy glow that had hypnagogic pop fans inventing the term hypnagogic pop and face paint sales doubling. Having exhausted the feel good vibes, they're letting their reflective side out on 'High Places Vs Mankind', the new album out 5th April on Thrill Jockey. Tackling what it means to be human, they cover romance, addiction and death in 10 sparky pop tracks.
Last week we fell in love with 'On Giving Up', the italo inspired, dark disco anthem and second track on the record.

Now listen to the 'Can't Feel Nothing' Remix, taken from a 12" that will follow their spring tour. Placing gorgeously soft vocals next to hyped up tribal beat it works as well in the club as does in deep meditation. Pints, pills and sweat. You can't get more grotesquely human than that.
'High Places vs Mankind' is out on Thrill Jockey records on 5th April 2010. They tour the UK this May.
