Does and Hoes: The Peelies

The Peelies

With the full length records of the Dum Dum Girls, Best Coast & Warpaint, our iPods and ears have been blessed with slick guitar riffs (as demonstrated in ‘Elephants’ in particular) and grungy Garage sounds. We can also safely say that modern girl bands don’t have to be associated with Girls Aloud, Sugababes (or even the Riot Grrls...) anymore. And, as Costa Rica's Las Robertas demonstrated just the other month, it isn't just coming from the US and UK. Canadian rockers The Peelies mix things up nicely on debut EP ‘Together Forever’. Like an Indie Pop snack, filled with raucous Garage guitars & dusted with ‘boppable riffs’; the 4 piece take all the good qualities of the girls in the garage and top it with special recipe sprinkles.
