His Clancyness: Mistify The Ocean

I think I'm supposed to write in some totally doped up way when talking about His Clancyness. As if he and I are on a way different level where tape loops come alive and make love, squashing their polyester toes together in bacchic bliss. After all, he is living in Italy's hedonism hotspot, and his tunes will get you drunk on almost-heartbroken excess. Or we're supposed to mope. Cuddle up in our canadian sweaters made of dreamwool and ambiencecotton. Sadness never sounded so fluffy....
His Clancyness is also just a guy from Ottawa, living in Bologna and writing songs created on the Guitar, Organ, Mandolin, Piano and 'stuff' and then performing with the skill of an five armed wonder kid. No wonder The Fader, Pitchfork and Weekly Tape Deck [amongst others] love him. He released the Hissometer Cassette on Secret Furry Hole Records earlier in the year and has been playing shows in Italy and the UK.
His gently mutated music sounded were even better when we heard him in London last month so we asked him to do an exclusive session for Neu Magazine. Even better than we expected, he's dressed it up a bit. Threaded with lights, this is a gorgeous couple of tracks, filmed at his home in Italy.
