Houses

Forget buying a dog and taking out a joint bank account, it looks like the new must have accessory for couples is a pop band. Summer Camp, Tennis, Hideous Men, Kisses... The list goes on.

Add to that Houses, a man and woman who (apparently) started recording when one of them lost their job and relocated to a cabin in Hawaii. After a few months faffing about working for food they recorded "All Night", a set of leafy fields field recordings and tropical beats, channelling their thoughts on isolation, removal from reality and the breakdown of technology. Their experience was so intense that they "just kind of melted into one person", which could be a way of saying "there was not much else to do but sex it up" but could also be about how their sound is a beautifully fluid mix of the human voice, machine and raw emotion.

(Just a couple of words of warning guys. Benni and Annie, Bjorn and Agnetha, Stevie and Lindsey... just saying)

The band have recently signed to Lefse.
