Lapalux

London producer Lapalux has made this mix of beautifully glitched noises for Streets of Beige. He plays the Old Blue Last with Airhead this Saturday.
The sprawling boroughs of London have been a hotbed of beat-making talent for many years now, and the current climate is probably the most ripe the scene's ever been given the rise of dubstep and a resurgent hip-hop and experimental movement. Which is why I'm not surprised that that's where I found Lapalux - a young producer who's pulsing, experimental grid-works are an inspiration to anyone with an ear to spare. With a sprinkle of the reverb-tinged pop and hip-hop touches that have been the staple of the US movement, he's crafted an incredibly individual sound that is explored in further depth through man and machine at his live shows. And here he's brought together a tender yet exciting blend of glitch-hop, slow funk and future pop, all squashed into a 40 minute bubbling ether.
