Low Sea

Blame it on the rising costs of a pint of Guiness or the damaging legacy of B*Witched "blaming it on the Weatherman", but Ireland hasn't been the go-to destination for new music over the last few years. The charming garage pop of So Cow has won a few fans but that's due to his spells over in the US rather than anything to rival Smash Hits covers (and little Louis Walsh) declaring that it's the Irish Invasion.
That's going to change if Lefse have their way. With a good track record of picking songs from less-trod places (they recently released an EP from Bologna's "A Classic Education") comes the debut EP from Galway's Low Sea. These two space age druids* make oscillating krauty beats with worming vocals and a glossthat reminds us of Moroder, Spacemen 3 and Mazzy Star.
*Yeah, we're really not sure about the 'look' either
The EP is out on the 13th September
