One Dark Eskimo: Why? Vs Amp Live
Why?'s latest album Eskimo Snow drops warm layered beats and choppy samples for an icier live feel. Released last September it brushed the previous work with a folky wash courtesy of mixing tips from a Lambchop man who has previously worked with Silver Jews and Calexico.
Now there's a chance to hear it in a new way. Five tracks from the record have been remixed by the beatmaker behind Zion, Amp Live. 4AD have announced they'll be releasing brand new material from Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, Gang Gang Dance and Tune-Yards to celebrate World Record Store Day 2010. 'Fragments From a Work in Progress' will feature rough drafts of tracks that will feature on the artists' forthcoming records.
