Pains of Being Pure at Heart: The One

If C86 is too sexless but other alt-rock just a bit laddish, Pains of Being Pure at Heart are probably your favourite band in the world right now. Taking the breathy cuteness of the world's indie-est genre (only Stuart Murdoch worked the fragile boy thing more and that was blimmin' years ago) and a good dollop of synthy sauce they're writing songs that rollick along rather than flop in the corner like wet blankets.

And, with the more typically 'Pains track 'Heart in Your Heartbreak' currently on constant repeat, we've been finding something fresh in loved-up ballad "The One". Sing it at a loved one sweetly, then drag them into bed.
