Good Wives: Parenthetical Girls’ ‘Evelyn McHale’

'He is much better off without me ... I wouldn't make a good wife for anybody,'
Robert Wiles' photograph of Evelyn McHale has fascinated arty men since 1947 when he snapped her jump from the observation platform of the Empire State Building. Andy Warhol turned it into print, author Jason Stout captured it as a short story and not-that-interesting Singer-Songwriter Anton Rothschild wrote her a lovesong.

Now Zach Pennington and Parenthetical Girls are taking Evelyn for another swirl around the dancefloor for their new series of limited edition 12" EPs. Tacky trysts, crippling parts and and martyrdom is whirled up in a glamourous pop sound that takes a sharp shimmer past the strings and horns of 'Entanglements' .
Privilege, pt 1: On Death & Endearments contains four tracks and comes with artwork from Jenny Mörtsell. Every record will feature a member of the band and will be limited to 500 physical copies per EP. The cover will be numbered using the respective member's blood which, while fitting, is a little creepy.

"Sweetheart remembered for your art. Change that charm towards the charts and we'll be stars"
Parenthetical Girls Privilege: Pt. 1 - On Death & Endearments will be released on the band's own label Slender Means Society on February 23rd 2010.
It features four songs; Evelyn McHale, Someone Else's Muse, On Death and Endearments and Found Drama.
