Mika Miko

After 7 years inspiring parties from San Francisco to Shoreditch - and records on Kill Rock Stars and Sub Pop Mika Miko played their last show at Fun Fun Fest in Austin last week. Shaking his way through it was Steve Rose. Let's hope he's dried off.

Yesterday I had the shakes. I think it was probably alcohol related but it was really awful, I could barely even roll a cigarette. More importantly, yesterday LA's own Mika Mikowww.myspace.com/mikamikoplayed their last ever show ever; at Austin, TX's 'Fun Fun Fun Fest'. It was like Glastonbury 2005; they played through a twelve hour rain storm, to a couple of hundred drenched stage-diving, skateboard carrying kids.

As we all know with every door that closes another opens...Mika Miko's Seth Densham and Jenna Thornhill have now joined forces with The Strange Boys who also played Wet Wet Wet Fest. The Strange Boys have a new record coming out on Rough Trade that sounds like the Mamas and the Papas...Pretty Great!

Rest in peace Mika Miko...Rest in peace Fun Fun Fun!
