Felt: Stunts

Just when you think you’ve got your list of favourite sun-bleached, hazy American artists in order, there’s another one that pops up to ruin it all. So move aside Nodzzz and step down The Drums [phew], Austin’s Stunts are here to get small town bloggers in a frenzy, just in time for the hot season.
The six-piece have barely had time to get their website together properly, but it’s easily to tell already that they’re better than your average friend-hoarding internet band. Taking their influences from all over the place, they manage to craft something that makes your heart ache due to its sheer majesty, but there’s something darker lurking beneath the surface.
tunts play with the sound of The Crystals and 60’s power-pop. Most importantly, they sound like they’ve had a good time recording, filling their songs with dirty, speedy chatter of noise. If you can imagine The Pains of being Pure at Heart raised on My Bloody Valentine instead of bands from C86, you’re not far wrong.
