LA Synth duo Tearist were meant to be bringing their shattering set to the UK next week with Silk Flowers and The Gentle Friendly. Sadly, it wasn't meant to be. Maybe we just aren't ready for their weirdness. Maybe there's a goverment conspiracy to keep them from infecting kids brain with synthy space noise. Maybe, "the man" was scared they'd bleed on venues up, or climb the walls. Maybe they just couldn't afford it. Making experimental music doesn't always pay the bills...

But we shouldn't just like them because they're stranger than your average Mumford or Sons. Tearist make songs that Lady Gaga would die to LALALA over, from the powerful thump of "Headless" (featured in January) or the sexily simple "Closest Furtherest". The latter, sent to Scott from Pinglewood in the middle of feverish dream, does diva better than most of the HEAT coverstars.
