The Afterlife: YACHT

Pop ideology doesn't come any more complex than with YACHT. Continuing the 'mantra' based mission of album See Mystery Lights, the video for 'The Afterlife' has the band taking part in a baptism ritual... in slow motion. "Water baptism is a ritual act which gives people a profound sense of renewal and rebirth" explains YACHT frontman Jona "Baptism initiates, purifies, and gives a name. Baptism need not be dogmatic. It can be, rather, a pure experience of the body: anticipation, cold, shock, brevity, commitment, and emergence, relief."
It's directed by repeat collaborator Judah Switzer and leads up to the track being released as a single - accompanied by remixes from The XX , Joy Electric, Andrew WK and Mai Ling - on 19th April. YACHT will also be touring the UK next month with LCD Soundsystem:
