The Proper Ornaments

If you sometimes wish that Super Furry Animals were still making understated swirling pop rather than Gruff faffing off to South American to discover Brazilian VCR repairmen and his "Cosmic Loneliness" then The Proper Ornaments could be right up your street. The band - its members are Veronica Falls' James Hoare and the fantastically named Max Clap - channel the Welsh band on "Recalling" but swap quirky madness for a weird wallflower shyness. With a motorik dream-beat hinting that there's something (Phantom?) powerful to come, we can't wait to hear a full length record.
