Rent Boys

Rent Boys talk total bollocks. They are funny sometimes and just sound like dickheads at others. They make a kind of Iggy influenced garage rock that is even nastier than those guys in Sex Beet and The Hipshakes. 'we bring physical ability, sexual prowess and haunting realism. (BANG)' they say. Listen to their music, the BANG is important. They also talk about 'spectral raping' - which we only assume is Yvette Fielding's worst nightmare. Snotty to the last, it's a good job that their music makes you want to hand them a guitar not a gag.
'We're just five radical bastards from a Woodhouse whorehouse' says Andrew, who met the band 'white water rafting at seamen cadets'. They're currently recording new stuff somewhere near Bradford. It's going well. 'It's going Swimmingly' they correct. 'We reckon we've produced something that the kids might not like at first but will find easier to swallow as they listen harder and harder'. This is where the spectral raping comes into play. They've been having fun in the studio admitting that there was 'a spectral raping, the spirit of elvis was desicrated by the half naked, blind bog beast' and less fantastically 'a chip pan fire'
When they aren't exerting their sexual prowess on the dead they like going to parties, pubs, clubs and discoteques, like any good hell raising punk kids. They collectively endorse club culture at oceana so if you see them on the dancefloor, offer to buy them a drink. Rent Boys sometimes play shows but prefer reconstruct games of snakes and ladders 'When i was eight my brother and i made a dramatic reconstruction of a game of snakes and ladders. He wore some of mummies old tights and i had my little tail on show. Everyone in the chip shop thought it were epic'.
Rent Boys are from Leeds. Here are some facts about Leeds, courtesy of the band.
Leeds is the fourth most populous city in England and the largest in West Yorkshire. According to the 2001 Uk census, the Leeds Urban Area has a population of 443,247. The City of Leeds has a population of 750,200 (according to a mid 2006 estimate). With such a large city, it's no wonder that Leeds has a thriving gay scene, to rival other major cities.
Rent Boys support WAVVES + TEEN SHEIKHS on the 24th of November in Leeds.
