Alessandra Di Consoli is showing her work at The Book Club in London this month. There's a special launch party to celebrate on the 21st and the exhibition runs until the 30th. Alessandra will be signing copies of the book between 6 and 8pm and there will be DJ music courtesy of Bones.
Alessandra Di Consoli is an artist and photographer who lives and works in Italy.
Following the success of the launch of her book “Memorie Dell’Abbandono” and the showcase of her images in SuperStudioPiù, contemporary Art, Milan (2008), Alessandra is arriving in London to share her images of abandoned National Linificio and Canapificio (hemp factory) of Cassano d’Adda. Access to this enormous bank of memories reveals a dialogue between the images that comprise it, uncovering the genus of the work: the investigation into the stratification of time. The portraits show some of the people who graced the linificio and reveale objects as the private memories of their encounters.
