AMPS FOR CHRIST is the current music project of Man Is The Bastard and Bastard Noise veteran and metal/noise pioneer Henry Barnes. Coming to life in 1996, when sonic visionary Barnes met recording enthusiast Enid Snarb the project has largely operated out of Claremont, California ever since. Barnes decided that he wanted to combine his experience with experimental noise and extreme metal with his love for traditional folk music, classical composition, and jazz. Henry has been building odd stringed instruments, pre-amps and amplifiers of an experimental nature for many moons and used them occasionally in the previous groups but with Amps For Christ he began to focus on chasing down these new sounds. The warp in the harmonic scale, experimentation with waveforms and beat-tones are matters of great intrigue in this project. Amps For Christ is about combinations of many styles of music, emphasising the multi-cultured, multi-layered, and multi-genre composition as well as broadly ranged themes. Many tracks treat love, peace, problems with modern capitalism, and Barnes' relationship with God all with a similar mystical honesty. Amps For Christ have many jewel-encrusted releases across a multitude of labels with Vermiform, Shrimper and 5RC collecting together some of best material.

TIME is the musical collision of Frances Morgan and Mark Dicker. The duo wrangle eerie guitar, mind-frying static and electronic rainbows into a sombre yet beautiful landscape populated by Frances' stark and vulnerable vocal. Clanging woozy riffs stride through bowed atmospheres of synth pulse and psychedelic viola work outs, as much haunted by Henry Flint as Charalambides, only with a darker and more malevolent core. The group's self-titled EP is now available as a limited edition CD-R with handmade lino print cover from their webiste below.

CLUNES are a duo comprising of Thomas James Scott and Daniel David Richard Bolger. Claiming to receive transmissions from the planet Clunes, their music channels the turbulent, far-away earth whose population goes through an endlessly repeating one-day life cycle, one which typically ends with a decimating global war. Using sampling keyboards and various acoustic inputs, voice-altering apparatus and drums, they attempt to forge mini-narratives from these communications through the medium of visceral, comical and occasionally melodical improvised music. Clunes have a tape release on Cosmic Germ and a CDR through Tooz, plus through their myspace you can download their joyous Xmas album too, a must for this Summer!
