Double Denim Records

Sometimes Double Denim Records wake up sweating in the night with the fear that one of their artists will release a record that will spawn a bad genre. Don't we all, boys, don't we all. That and fear of ever wearing double denim, of course. Read what else Hari and Jack from the label (and blog... of course) have to say below. Gird your loins, ladies
Double Denim is... a 7" label started in London during the summer of 2010 and a near-daily blog of new music found in epic trawls of the internet.
We started releasing records because... we were finding such amazing unheard stuff by blogging everyday that it made sense to start putting out the best of that, alongside some American stuff we dig that didn't have a release in the UK. Also we thought that there would be glory. Still waiting for the glory.
I believe that... music is getting better not worse.
I hate that... a great number of foreign addresses are completely incomprehensible to us.
I love that... when we started the blog I'd just use weird mythology and science stuff to put alongside the songs. I kind of ran out of zany interesting mini-stories and so I got into the heavy shit. Like 15 page crime stories, or who-dun-it deep sea myth studies, but now I keep it to myself like some horrible habit.
Recently I've been thinking that... recently we've been thinking about this question collectively for about 30 minutes, and can't come up with an answer that would offend nobody.
I would never release a record by a band if... We thought it could incite something awful, like violence, or a bad genre movement.
But I'll always want to release a band's record if... it gives me than endorphin rush of hearing something exciting.
The hardest decision I've had to make is... every single one. We live by the sword at Double Denim, if a release bombs then we have to stop.
I hope that... We find some amazing UK music to release next year. It's about time.
The new stuff that is on my label that I love is... The Hard Mix song we're putting out in particular, and a couple of other bands/artists we're talking to at the moment but can't mention because we love secrets.
The music that isn't on my label that I love is... Jai Paul - he's going to be huge next year, and Twin Shadow.
When I'm not listening to records I like to... Jack has a GSOH, enjoys red wine, long walks and DIY. Hari doesn't have a GSOH, enjoys Eastern European literature and is a pedant when it comes to Scrabble. (hey ladies... - Ed)
I'm excited about... selling out of everything.
